
TAROM - Romanian Air Transport - was established on 18 September 1954.
A few years after launch, TAROM already operating to almost all European countries. In 1966 TAROM made the first flight across the Atlantic. Starting 1974 he made the first flight to Sydney via Calcutta and introduced regular flights to New York and Beijing.
In 1990, to align with the performance criteria of free market economy, TAROM started a new strategic program. Competition was a real stimulant for TAROM, which determined the alignment of TAROM services to international standards since some of the world's major airlines already operating flights to Bucharest.

FLEET
In 1992 TAROM began an intense process of modernisation of the fleet.
Two Airbus A-310 were purchased in 1992, two Boeing 737 in 1993, and three Boeing 737 in 1994.
Since 1998, TAROM fleet was enriched with seven ATR 42-500 aircraft for domestic and regional flights, and the other four Boeing 737.
Funding this ambitious strategic program was not an easy task: 1992 TAROM has invested more than U.S. $ 350 million acquisition of new aircraft and equipment. Tarom intends to continue this process of modernisation by acquiring new performant aircrafts.
TAROM currently operating on foreign and domestic flights with a fleet of 23 aircraft.

Deutsche Lufthansa is the largest airline in Germany and the National Company of this country.
It was founded in 1926 in Berlin, operating until the beginning of the 2nd World War. The present company was formed in 1953. Headquarters is in Cologne, and the main hub is Frankfurt airport, followed by Munich airport.

Austrian Airlines operates as a link point between East and West, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Together with its partners, Lauda Air and Austrian Arrows, serving over 130 destinations worldwide.
In 2000, Austrian Airlines Group has joined the Star Alliance airline alliance.
Austrian Airlines fleet, located in a continuous modernization is about two years younger than the European average and includes aircraft Airbus 321 / 320 / 319, Boeing 777 / 767 / 737, Fokker 100 / 70, Bombardier Q400 / Q300 and Canadair Jet.

Alitalia is the national air transport company in Italy. With the merger with Air One, which took place on 13 January 2009, the new Alitalia operates to 92 domestic and international destinations, with over 2,200 flights per week, based on six major airports: Rome Fiumicino, Milan, Turin, Venice, Naples and Catania. The main hub is Rome's Fiumicino airport.

KLM company was founded on 07 October 1919, in order to serve the Netherlands and its colonies. Since 2004 is part of Air France KLM. It is also a Sky Team member.

British Airways Company birth coincides with the birth of civil aviation. The Company celebrated its 90th anniversary last year of the first planned flight which took place on 25 August 1919.
In the current form of organization, the company works since 1974.
British Airways is part of the One World alliance of civil transport, along with companies like American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Iberia, Malev, Finnair.
The main operational base is Heathrow airport in London.

Czech Airlines is one of the oldest airlines in Europe. Provides services for passengers since 1923, was founded as Czechoslovak State Airlines on 6th of October 1923. The first transport flight from Prague to Bratislava took place on 29th of October the same year. On that trip, pilot Karel Brabenec flew the distance of 321 km with an Aero A-14 (Brandenburg).
On 25th of March, 2001, CSA join SkyTeam alliance.
CSA offers air connections from the Czech capital, Prague, to most European capitals and to major destinations in North America. Flight program also links with the Middle East and North Africa.

LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) is the national aviation company of Poland, with the hub in Warsaw (Frederic Chopin Airport). The company was founded in 1st January 1929 and is one of the oldest airlines in the world. The first international flight was in 2nd August 1929, to Vienna. NIKI's Airbus and Embraer fleet and its list of destinations has been growing steadily ever since the company's foundation in November 2003. Airberlin acquired a 49.9 percent interest in NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH in 2010, making NIKI and airberlin Europe's first low-cost-airline alliance.

Finnair, one of the oldest airlines in the world, was founded on November 1, 1923. Its operations focus on transporting passengers between Europe and Asia, via Helsinki.
Finnair's major shareholder is the Finnish government, with 55.8%. Other shareholders are insurance companies, various companies and private individuals. About 20 percent of the shares are held by foreign shareholders.
In recent years, Finnair has emerged as a major player in traffic between Europe and Asia. TAP Portugal is the Portuguese airline, member of Star Alliance from 14 March 2005. The TAP Portugal Hub is Lisbon.
In 2011 TAP added November 11 destinations to its network: Athens, Bordeaux, Dusseldorf, Manchester, Vienna and Dubrovnik, in Europe, Accra, Bamako and Sao Vicente, in Africa, Miami in the United States and Porto Alegre in Brazil. Thus, the TAP network comprises 75 destinations domestic and international in 34 countries worldwide.
Together with the PGA, TAP now offers over 1,850 weekly flights, on average, with a modern fleet consists of 55 Airbus aircraft. Overall, the current fleet comprises 71 aircraft.

SAS sau Scandinavian Airlines, is a multi-national airline owned by Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and the largest airline in Scandinavia.
Airline was founded in 1946 and is one of the founding members of Star Alliance.
Part of the SAS Group, headquartered in Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), Sweden, Scandinavian Airlines operates with 198 aircraft to 176 destinations in over
30 countries. The main airline hub is Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen.

Carpatair stock company was founded in 1999 in Bucharest, with operating base in Cluj-Napoca.
In the spring of 1999, Carpatair inaugurates two scheduled: Cluj-Venice (Treviso) and Cluj-Budapest. That same year, Cluj-Bologna route is launched.
March 26th is the starting day of the hub in Timisoara.
